IRPA implements its programmes through three Strategic Pillars that guide the organization’s vision, priorities, and interventions. These pillars provide the framework for promoting sustainable livelihoods, resilient pastoral systems, and inclusive economic growth within pastoral and agro-pastoral communities.
The three Strategic Pillars are:
- Sustainable Rangeland Management
Promoting the restoration, conservation, and sustainable use of rangeland resources to enhance ecosystem health, climate resilience, and livestock productivity. - Livestock Development
Strengthening livestock production systems through improved animal health, breeding, nutrition, husbandry practices, and access to essential services. - Market Development
Enhancing market access, value addition, entrepreneurship, and business opportunities for pastoral communities to improve household incomes and economic resilience.
