During the implementation of its Strategic Plan, IRPA seeks to achieve the following strategic objectives:
1. Sustainable Rangeland Management
To improve the condition, productivity, and resilience of rangeland ecosystems through sustainable management, restoration, and conservation interventions that support pastoral livelihoods and environmental sustainability.
2. Livestock Development
To enhance livestock productivity, health, and resilience through improved animal husbandry practices, access to veterinary services, nutrition, breeding, and climate-smart livestock production systems.
3. Market Development
To strengthen market systems and value chains by improving market access, value addition, entrepreneurship, and business opportunities for pastoral and agro-pastoral communities.
4. Community Capacity Strengthening
To build the capacity of pastoral communities, local institutions, and producer groups to effectively manage natural resources, participate in development processes, and sustain programme outcomes.
5. Institutional Growth and Strategic Partnerships
To strengthen IRPA’s organizational capacity, resource mobilization, knowledge management, and partnerships in order to deliver sustainable and impactful development programmes.
