IRPA is committed to developing evidence-based and community-driven interventions that address the challenges facing pastoral and agro-pastoral communities in Tanzania. As a newly established organization, IRPA is laying a strong foundation for sustainable programme implementation through community mobilization, baseline assessments, institutional partnerships, and project preparation.
Current Projects
Community Economic Empowerment Initiative for Women and Youth Groups
Status: Ongoing
IRPA is supporting the establishment and strengthening of 10 women and youth groups in pastoral communities as a foundation for sustainable livelihood diversification and climate resilience. The initiative prepares community groups to engage in income-generating activities, entrepreneurship, value addition, and climate-smart enterprises once project financing is secured. Through this initiative, IRPA is strengthening community organization, leadership, and readiness for future development investments.

Baseline Studies and Community Data Collection Programme
Status: Ongoing
IRPA is undertaking baseline data collection and simple parameter studies to generate evidence for programme planning, monitoring, and impact measurement. The studies focus on key aspects of rangeland conditions, livestock production systems, natural resource management, socio-economic conditions, and community priorities. The information generated will guide the design of future interventions and strengthen evidence-based decision-making.

Completed Projects
As a newly established organization, IRPA is currently building its programme portfolio and institutional capacity. While large-scale development projects are yet to commence, the organization has successfully completed important preparatory initiatives, including community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and programme design processes that provide a strong foundation for future implementation.
IRPA looks forward to expanding its project portfolio through strategic partnerships with government institutions, development partners, research organizations, the private sector, and local communities.
